Island Sail runs Monday thru Friday for the second-fifth weeks and Monday thru Thursday on the first and last week. If your sailor is new to Island Sail, they will have to do a quick swim test at the start of the program at 9am on Monday morning.
New sailors, be sure to bring your life jacket (if you have one; if not, we can loan you one), wear your bathing suit and shoes (we recommend close-toed shoes), and bring dry, warm clothes to change into afterwards. Always have your water bottle, sunscreen, and a beach towel. No food allowed.
All sailors, old and new, should arrive by 9:00 am for the morning session and 1:00 pm for the afternoon session. Check in with our Program Director at the boat house at Skoog Park to make sure we have all of your paperwork.
Island Sail offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced instruction for youth ages 7-18 in a morning class session that runs from 9:00 am-Noon or an afternoon session that runs from 1:00-4:00 pm. Sailors can sign up for the morning session, afternoon session, or both sessions for a full day of sailing. Note that there is no camp supervision during the lunch hour for sailors who participate in both sessions.
New this year, Island Sail will offer a weekly race clinic for experienced sailors during the morning sessions from July 14-August 7.
